Role OverviewWhile our external Chartered Accountant (CA) handles final GST returns, TDS/TCS filings, and Income Tax Returns (ITR), you will be responsible for maintaining end-to-end operational books, reconciling multi-platform payout reports, tracking returns/claims, and generating accurate tax data inputs for the CA.
Key Responsibilities1. E-Commerce Reconciliation & Settlement Tracking- Extract and reconcile monthly settlement reports, Merchant Tax Reports (MTR), and payout advice from Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and D2C payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay, Cashfree).
- Track and match gross sales, platform commissions, shipping fees, logistics charges, fixed fees, and storage costs against actual bank deposits.
- Reconcile customer returns, return-to-origin (RTO) orders, damaged inventory claims, and reimbursement payouts across platforms.
- Prepare and compile monthly sales registers (B2B and B2C state-wise breakdowns) along with return logs.

- Consolidate Purchase & Expense Registers (inventory invoices, packaging material, ad spend, and vendor bills) to maximize Input Tax Credit (ITC).

- Reconcile marketplace-deducted TCS (Tax Collected at Source) and TDS (u/s 194O) against platform reports and Form 26AS/AIS.

- Coordinate directly with the CA team to hand over verified Monthly GST & TDS data packages prior to statutory deadlines.
- Pass daily accounting entries (Sales, Purchases, Receipts, Payments, Expenses, and Credit Notes)
- Manage Accounts Payable (vendor invoices, supplier payments) and Accounts Receivable.
- Process vendor payments, track debit notes for returned/defective stock, and manage petty cash.
- Track stock movements between primary warehouses, platform fulfilment centres (Amazon FBA, Flipkart FBF), and customer return hubs.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts against accounting records and perform month-end Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) adjustments.
- Conduct weekly and monthly bank reconciliations across all business accounts.
- Assist in preparing monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheet schedules for management review.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), BBA (Finance), or M.Com.
- Experience: 2+ years of core accounting experience within an e-commerce brand, D2C setup, or marketplace aggregator.
- Software Proficiency:
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Sumifs, Data Parsing) — Mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with Tally Prime / Zoho Books / Busy or e-commerce ERP systems (Unicommerce, EasyEcom).
- Familiarity with Seller Central (Amazon), Flipkart Seller Hub, and Myntra Partner portals.
- Data Accuracy: Ability to handle large volumes of transactional data across multiple sales channels without error.
- Analytical Mindset: Quick at identifying payout discrepancies, missing claims, or uncredited marketplace fees.
- Communication: Ability to work smoothly with internal operations teams, suppliers, and external legal/CA partners.
