Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Account Manager to lead and grow our Government Initiatives vertical. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and a skilled executor who can bridge creative campaign vision with flawless on-ground delivery. You will serve as the primary liaison between government clients, internal creative and operations teams, and senior stakeholders — ensuring every initiative is impactful, timely, and aligned with public-sector objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Strategy & Creative Design

  • Conceptualise and lead end-to-end creative campaigns tailored to government mandates and public outreach goals.
  • Translate complex policy messages into compelling, citizen-centric communication across multi-channel platforms (digital, OOH, print, events).
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop campaign narratives, visual identities, and messaging frameworks.
  • Ensure all campaign content adheres to government guidelines, regulatory norms, and brand standards.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the single point of contact for government clients — ministries, PSUs, state bodies, and allied agencies.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers and officials across departments.
  • Conduct regular review meetings, present campaign progress reports, and manage client expectations proactively.
  • Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing government accounts.

Campaign Execution & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Own end-to-end campaign execution — from brief and approval workflows to production, launch, and post-campaign analysis.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams including creative, digital, legal, procurement, and finance.
  • Manage vendor and agency ecosystems; oversee timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Drive internal stakeholder alignment; present campaign plans and secure buy-in at leadership level.

Governance & Reporting

  • Maintain meticulous project documentation, compliance records, and campaign trackers.
  • Prepare and present MIS reports, post-campaign analyses, and strategic reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement and tendering protocols applicable to government contracts.

Required Skills & Competencies

Core Competencies

  • Creative Campaign Design — proven ability to craft and oversee integrated communications campaigns.
  • Client Management — demonstrated track record of managing senior-level government or institutional clients.
  • Stakeholder Engagement — adept at navigating complex multi-stakeholder environments (internal and external).
  • Project Management — strong command over timelines, resources, budgets, and risk mitigation.
  • Strategic Thinking — ability to align campaign objectives with broader policy and organisational goals.
  • Communication & Presentation — excellent verbal, written, and visual storytelling capabilities.
  • Negotiation — skilled in contract discussions, vendor management, and scope negotiations.

Technical & Domain Skills

  • Proficiency in campaign management tools, CRM platforms, and project tracking software.
  • Working knowledge of government procurement processes (GeM, tender/RFP frameworks).
  • Familiarity with digital campaign ecosystems — social media, programmatic advertising, and analytics dashboards.
  • Understanding of public policy, governance structures, and regulatory compliance in the Indian context.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 13 – 16 years of total professional experience, with at least 8 years in account management or client-facing roles.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder campaigns.
  • Prior experience working on government projects / public sector mandates is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with central/state government ministries, PSUs, or autonomous bodies will be given preference
  • Familiarity with Integrated Communications Campaigns for government schemes (e.g., flagship national programmes) is a strong differentiator.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to lead high-impact national campaigns that shape public awareness and policy outcomes.
  • Collaborative, high-growth environment with exposure to India's top government and public-sector clients.
  • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
