About the Role
This is an entry-level position perfect for a highly motivated fresher who wants to dive straight into product development. You will focus on designing high-utility, fashion-forward diaper bags, changing mats, stroller organizers, and travel gear. Because maternity gear requires intense problem-solving, you must have a sharp eye for both aesthetic beauty and deep functional utility.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapid Concept Generation: Keep up with fast-moving global trends in fashion and parenting to quickly sketch ideas, create mood boards, and propose fresh concepts.
- Tech Pack Creation: Turn approved sketches into detailed, production-ready Tech Packs (including precise measurements, pocket placements, and hardware callouts) under fast deadlines.
- Functional Problem Solving: Design with a utility-first mindset thinking about zipper accessibility, insulated pockets, water-resistance, and lightweight ergonomics.
- Prototyping & Sampling: Coordinate closely with vendors and sampling units to track prototypes, check for defects, and ensure design accuracy.
- Market & Competitor Research: Actively track competitor launches and customer feedback to help iterate and improve our existing product lines quickly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Graduating or recently graduated (0–1 year experience) from NIFT's Accessory Design (AD) department.
- Design & Functionality Instincts: A strong portfolio showcasing an understanding of soft-goods/bag construction. You look at a bag and naturally think about both how it looks and how it works.
- Software Proficiency: Excellent command of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Speed & Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, pivot quickly based on feedback, and manage multiple design deadlines simultaneously.
