We are looking for an experienced Accessibility Specialist – WCAG & Document Accessibility who can lead accessibility testing, remediation, compliance documentation, and validation across websites, web applications, PDFs, forms, and other digital documents.

Roles & Responsibilities

Web & Application Accessibility

• Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of websites and web applications against WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA requirements.
• Perform manual and automated accessibility testing.
• Analyze accessibility scan results and map identified issues to relevant WCAG success criteria.
• Identify accessibility issues involving HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA implementation.
• Provide clear remediation recommendations and guidance to developers.
• Validate fixes and perform regression testing after remediation.
• Test complex user journeys, including navigation, authentication, forms, portals, and application workflows.

PDF & Document Accessibility

• Audit and remediate PDFs using Adobe Acrobat Pro and other accessibility tools.
• Create and correct PDF tagging and document structure.
• Fix reading order, heading hierarchy, lists, links, tables, and alternative text.
• Ensure accessible form fields, labels, and tab order.
• Validate documents against PDF/UA, WCAG, and Section 508 requirements.
• Review financial documents, reports, forms, board documents, and other content-heavy PDFs for accessibility.

Manual & Assistive Technology Testing

• Perform keyboard-only accessibility testing.
• Test digital experiences using screen readers such as JAWS and NVDA.
• Familiarity with VoiceOver is preferred.
• Validate focus management, navigation, forms, error handling, interactive controls, and dynamic content.
• Identify accessibility barriers that may not be detected through automated testing.

Compliance & Reporting

• Prepare detailed accessibility audit and compliance reports.
• Map accessibility findings to applicable WCAG success criteria.
• Maintain remediation trackers and supporting evidence.
• Support VPAT/ACR preparation and accessibility compliance documentation.
• Clearly communicate accessibility issues, impact, severity, and recommended fixes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional digital accessibility experience.
• Strong expertise in WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
• Hands-on experience with PDF accessibility remediation.
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro accessibility features.
• Experience with JAWS and/or NVDA screen readers.
• Strong understanding of keyboard accessibility and assistive technologies.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Understanding of accessible HTML, CSS, ARIA, forms, tables, and interactive components.
• Experience creating accessibility audit and remediation reports.
• Ability to work closely with developers, QA teams, designers, and project stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• IAAP CPACC, WAS, or equivalent accessibility certification.
• Hands-on knowledge of PDF/UA standards.
• Experience supporting VPAT/ACR documentation.
• Experience working on government or public-sector accessibility projects.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools such as Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, Accessibility Insights, or similar tools.
• Understanding of accessible design and usability best practices.
