About the Role:
We are looking for passionate Academic Mentors to guide students in Grades 3rd to 10th across subjects like Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. Your role will be to support, mentor, and simplify learning for young students in an engaging online environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Mentoring and Academic Support
- Conduct regular Doubt sessions with assigned students.
- Provide academic guidance based on each student's learning needs and goals.
- Support students in building discipline, study habits, time management, and confidence.
- Offer personalized attention to students who need extra support.
- Help students stay aligned with classwork, homework, projects, and exam preparation.
2. Performance Tracking and Monitoring
- Track daily attendance, homework completion, class participation, and test performance.
- Maintain accurate academic records for each assigned student.
- Analyze performance trends and identify students who are underperforming.
- Conduct root cause analysis for low performance, absenteeism, or lack of engagement.
- Prepare performance updates and share observations with relevant stakeholders.
3. Parent Communication and Engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents through calls, messages, WhatsApp, or scheduled meetings.
- Update parents on student progress, attendance, behavioral concerns, and improvement plans.
- Address parent concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Build trust and maintain a strong parent-mentor relationship.
- Ensure parents are aware of academic expectations, upcoming assessments, and action plans.
4. PTMs and Student Review Meetings
- Plan and conduct monthly PTMs (Parent-Teacher Meetings) or academic review discussions.
- Share student progress reports, strengths, challenges, and next steps during meetings.
- Document discussion points and agreed action items after each PTM.
- Follow up with parents and students on improvement commitments.
5. Coordination with Teachers and Internal Teams
- Collaborate with subject teachers to gather feedback on student performance and classroom behavior.
- Work closely with academic coordinators, operations teams, and faculty to resolve student-related issues.
- Escalate serious academic or behavioral concerns to the relevant team members when needed.
- Support smooth communication between students, parents, and faculty.
6. Improvement Planning and Intervention
- Create individual improvement plans for students who are struggling academically.
- Monitor the effectiveness of intervention strategies and revise them when required.
- Encourage consistent student participation and accountability.
- Motivate students through regular follow-ups and positive reinforcement.
- Ensure timely action for students at risk of falling behind.
Roles and Deliverables
The Academic Mentor will be expected to:
- Manage a set of assigned students and maintain regular contact with them.
- Ensure student attendance, doubt sessions remain at healthy levels.
- Maintain updated records of student performance and communication history.
- Conduct PTMs and follow-up sessions as per schedule.
- Submit reports on student progress, concerns, interventions, and outcomes.
- Contribute to improvement in student retention, satisfaction, and academic performance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline and able to cater doubt for Mathematics, Science, Eng and S.S.T.
- B.Ed. preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in teaching, mentoring, academic counseling, or student support roles.
- Experience working with school students, especially in grades 3 to 10, is preferred.
- Timing will be from 12:00 pm to 9:15 pm || WFH
