Role Description The Academic Counselor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Virudhunagar. The Academic Counselor will guide students in their academic planning, including course selection, study strategies, and performance improvement, while aligning recommendations with their long-term educational goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting individual counseling sessions, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with teachers and administrators to address student needs. The role also involves providing career counseling, helping students understand different academic pathways, and communicating regularly with families to ensure clarity about academic options and expectations. The Academic Counselor is expected to contribute to a supportive learning environment by organizing informational sessions, offering timely advice, and responding to student queries in a professional and empathetic manner.
Qualifications

  • Strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners in course planning and academic decision-making.
  • Effective Communication skills to interact clearly with students, families, and faculty in both individual and group settings.
  • Experience in Career Counseling to guide students on educational pathways and future opportunities.
  • Background in Education, preferably with knowledge of multiple curricula (e.g., IGCSE, IBDP, GCSE, AP, SAT).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Ability to maintain confidential student records and use basic digital tools for documentation and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases effectively.
  • Prior experience in academic counseling or school/tuition settings is an advantage.
