Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Academic Counsellor with 1–3 years of relevant experience in education or admissions counselling. The role involves guiding prospective students in selecting appropriate academic programs, managing the admission process, and ensuring a high standard of student engagement and satisfaction.
Location (on-site): Siliguri West Bengal
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional counselling to prospective students regarding courses, career pathways, and program details
- Assess student profiles and recommend suitable academic options
- Manage inquiries through calls, emails, walk-ins, and digital platforms
- Drive admission conversions through consistent follow-ups
- Maintain accurate student records and update CRM systems
- Coordinate with academic and administrative teams to ensure smooth enrollment
- Achieve assigned admission targets and contribute to institutional growth
- Represent the institution in seminars, workshops, and promotional events, if required
Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in academic counselling, admissions, student support, or related fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; comfortable with tele-counselling and virtual sessions
- Proven experience in lead conversion, lead qualification, prospect nurturing, and achieving admission/enrollment targets
- Familiarity with student onboarding and enrollment management processes; experience coordinating admission cycles and follow-up cadences
- Hands-on experience with CRMs and data management (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Freshsales, Microsoft Dynamics) and updating prospect records accurately
- Comfortable using digital engagement channels and platforms (WhatsApp Business, chat, email marketing, virtual meeting tools like Zoom or MS Teams) and basic knowledge of LMS platforms (Moodle, Blackboard)
- Strong counselling techniques: empathetic listening, objection handling, counselling assessments, relationship-building, and negotiation
- Target-driven mindset with the ability to work to KPIs and improve conversion rates; experience tracking metrics and reporting results
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace; attention to detail in data entry and maintaining student confidentiality and data privacy
- Graduate in any discipline; relevant certifications in counselling, sales, or admission counselling are a plus
