The Opportunity
MatchToCollege is looking for a Academic Counsellor who enjoys speaking with students and understands the questions, doubts, and confusion that come with choosing a college or course. This role is suitable for someone with at least 1 year of B2C EdTech experience who wants to grow their counselling skills in a supportive, learner-first environment.
What You Will Do
- Speak with students through calls, video meetings, and chats to understand their background, goals, and concerns
- Help students explore and shortlist colleges and courses based on their interests and academic profile
- Explain admission processes, eligibility criteria, and timelines in a simple and clear way
- Follow up with interested students and respond to their questions honestly and patiently
- Share common student concerns and feedback with the internal team to improve counselling support
Responsibilities
- Support students from the first conversation until they finalize a college or course
- Build trust by giving clear, honest, and unbiased guidance
- Manage multiple student conversations during busy admission periods while staying attentive
- Keep student details and conversation notes updated accurately in the system
- Focus on helping students make the right decision rather than pushing quick outcomes
What The Company Is Looking For
- 1+ year of experience in academic, admissions, or career counselling within B2C EdTech
- Basic understanding of the Indian higher education system and admission cycles
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain things patiently and clearly
- A genuine interest in guiding students instead of selling
- Comfort working with basic digital tools and CRM systems
