Job Description

Job Title: Academic Associate

Reports to: Dean of Academics

Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of prior experience in a similar role

Educational Qualifications: Minimum Master's degree in the chosen discipline, with a good academic record, from a reputed Institute/University.

Work Location: Bavdhan, Pune - Maharashtra 411021

Nature of work: Contractual

The Academic Associate (AA) Program at Nayanta University is designed to provide academic and administrative support to our teaching faculty while offering early-career academics a platform to strengthen their expertise and professional experience.

AAs are appointed on a contractual basis and are typically assigned to work with two undergraduate faculty members in any given term. AAs contribute to course design in consultation with the faculty, assist in course administration and facilitation, and also support the faculty with assessment and evaluation. In addition, they may lead discussion sessions, conduct tutorials/remedial classes and host office hours, supporting and engaging students beyond the classroom.

While we encourage applicants to be on contract with us for 10 months, we are open to considering applications for a single term (3 months) as well.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the faculty in preparing class materials, such as presentations, pre-readings, in-class assignments, projects, etc.
  2. Upload all course material on the institute's LMS and manage the course module.
  3. Assist students and faculty with resolving LMS-related queries.
  4. Evaluate students class participation, including recording attendance, as required by the faculty.
  5. Assist the faculty with assessments and evaluations.
  6. Release marks to students post faculty approval and conduct review sessions.
  7. Act as a liaison between the students and the faculty, as well as between the other departments, for all course-related queries and communication.
  8. Assist the Office of Academics in conducting course feedback at the end of the course.
  9. Conduct informal tutorials/remedial sessions/meetings with students.
  10. Design and deliver discussion sessions, seminars, and workshops.

Skills/Capabilities:

  1. Passionate about learning with an intent to pursue a career in academics
  2. Good academic record
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  4. Research-oriented, data-driven mindset
  5. Empathetic and a good listener
  6. Skilled in MS Office; familiar with analytic software, plagiarism tools, and Generative AI detectors
  7. Familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, etc.
