Role Description This is an on-site internship role for an Academic Advisor based in Bengaluru. The Academic Advisor will guide prospective and current learners on suitable programs, courses, and career paths aligned with their goals and qualifications. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, answering academic and program-related queries, and helping learners understand admissions criteria, curriculum structures, and progression options. The role also involves maintaining accurate advising records, collaborating with admissions and support teams, and contributing feedback to improve student experience on the platform. The Academic Advisor will interact with diverse learners, ensuring they receive clear, unbiased, and timely guidance throughout their academic decision-making process.
Qualifications
  • Strong student-facing support skills, including Student Counseling and Academic Advising.
  • Expertise in learner development and planning, including Career Counseling and general Education domain knowledge.
  • Effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
  • Ability to build trust with diverse learners, maintaining a non-judgmental, inclusive, and empathetic advising style.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Management, or a related field (current students in relevant programs may be considered for the internship).
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple advising interactions and follow-ups efficiently.
  • Comfort using online platforms, CRM tools, and basic productivity software for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Previous exposure to academic advising, career services, or student support (through internships, volunteering, or campus roles) is an advantage.
