Primary Job Title: Ab Initio DeveloperRole & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy Ab Initio graphs and components using GDE and manage metadata in EME for production ETL pipelines.
- Implement high-performance parallel processing solutions; tune graphs and resource usage to maximise throughput and minimise latency.
- Build reusable components, parameterised flows and sandboxes; maintain versioning and promote deliverables through deployment pipelines.
- Integrate Ab Initio processes with relational databases (Oracle, Teradata), file systems, job schedulers (Control-M) and downstream consumers.
- Perform root-cause analysis on runtime failures, implement fixes, and run data reconciliation and quality checks to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with business analysts, DBAs and operations teams for on-site implementation, production support and knowledge transfer.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must-Have: Hands-on experience with Ab Initio (GDE, EME, Co>Operating System) and production ETL delivery.
- Must-Have: Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills; practical experience with Oracle or Teradata databases.
- Must-Have: Expertise in Unix/Linux shell scripting and job scheduling tools (Control-M).
- Must-Have: Proven ability to design and tune parallel ETL graphs for high-volume data processing.
- Must-Have: Solid troubleshooting, data validation and performance tuning experience in live production environments.
- Must-Have: On-site availability across India and willingness to work with cross-functional teams for deployments and support.
- Preferred: Experience with version control and CI/CD processes for ETL deployments (Git).
- Preferred: Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data modelling and ETL best practices.
- Preferred: Exposure to Hadoop ecosystems or cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure) integrated with Ab Initio.
