Ab Initio Developer

Overview

• The Ab Initio Developer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing ETL processes using the Ab Initio suite of tools. They are responsible for building and maintaining scalable and high-performance data solutions to meet the organization's business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into ETL processes using Ab Initio technologies
• Design, develop, and implement ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Optimize and tune ETL processes for efficient performance and scalability
• Ensure the integrity and quality of the data being processed by implementing data validation and error handling techniques
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting of ETL processes to identify and resolve issues
• Work on performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring of ETL jobs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ETL processes with other systems and applications
• Document ETL design, technical specifications, and implementation details
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance ETL solutions
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in ETL development and data warehousing

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven professional experience as an Ab Initio Developer or in a similar ETL developer role
• Strong proficiency in Ab Initio suite of tools including Graphical Development Environment (GDE), Co>Operating System, and EME
• Expertise in designing and implementing ETL solutions for large-scale data warehouses
• Proficient in SQL for data manipulation and database querying
• Experience working in Unix or Linux environments for scripting and automation
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment
