Job Description
- Primary skills:Technology- Data Management - Data Integration- Ab Initio
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Ab Initio to support enterprise data integration needs.
- Build and enhance graphs in the Graphical Development Environment-GDE, ensuring readability, reusability, and performance.
- Implement data extraction, transformation, and load processes with strong focus on data quality, reconciliation, and error handling.
- Work with file systems and job execution on Co-Operating System, including scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting runs.
- Analyze source-to-target mappings and translate business/technical requirements into scalable ETL designs.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing support, and production validation for new and enhanced pipelines.
- Tune ETL jobs for performance by optimizing partitioning, sorting, joins, and resource usage.
- Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive fixes with proper documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, clear communication, and adherence to development standards.
- Maintain technical documentation for workflows, operational procedures, and support handovers. Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering/Technology/Computer Science (e.g., BTech/BE/MSc) or Master's degree (e.g., MTech/MCA).
- 3–5 years of experience in data integration/ETL development with strong hands-on expertise in Ab Initio.
- Proficiency in building ETL graphs using Ab Initio GDE and working with Co Operating System for execution and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data transformations, and best practices for reliability and maintainability.
- Ability to troubleshoot ETL failures and ensure stable production operations. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing reusable Ab Initio components, parameterized frameworks, and standardized patterns for faster delivery.
- Strong exposure to performance tuning techniques in Ab Initio (partitioning strategies, parallelism, memory/resource optimization).
- Experience working in structured delivery environments with version control, release processes, and operational support practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders to clarify requirements and propose practical, scalable ETL solutions.
- Familiarity with data validation approaches, reconciliation checks, and building robust audit/control mechanisms in pipelines. Good to have skills: SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, Data Warehousing Concepts, Scheduling Tools Autosys/Control-M, Production Support & Monitoring
