Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled 5G Core Engineer with strong expertise in AMF, SMF, and UPF deployment and integration, along with hands-on experience in network troubleshooting using logs, PCAP analysis, and Wireshark.
The ideal candidate will play a critical role in deploying, integrating, and troubleshooting 5G core network functions in a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and integrate 5G Core Network Functions (AMF, SMF, UPF)
- Configure and validate control plane and user plane procedures
- Perform end-to-end call flow validation (Registration, PDU Session setup, handover, etc.)
- Analyze system logs and perform troubleshooting using:
- Wireshark
- PCAP analysis
- Protocol decoding (NGAP, HTTP2, PFCP, GTP-U)
- Identify and resolve integration issues between network elements
- Support interoperability testing (IOT) and lab validations
- Work closely with RAN, transport, and cloud teams for integration activities
- Monitor system performance and analyze failures
- Document configurations, test cases, and troubleshooting procedures
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of 5G Core Architecture
- Hands-on experience with:
- AMF (Access and Mobility Management Function)
- SMF (Session Management Function)
- UPF (User Plane Function)
- Expertise in:
- Wireshark
- PCAP analysis
- Log analysis and debugging
- Knowledge of protocols:
- NGAP, HTTP/2, PFCP, GTP-U
- Good understanding of call flows and procedures in 5G
- Experience with Linux environments
