Windchill Data Migration Architect
Birlasoft is looking for Windchill
Data Migration Architect who will be responsible for endtoend ownership of PLM data migration programs into PTC Windchill, covering strategy definition, architecture design, rehearsal execution, production cutover, and validation governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Define overall Windchill data migration strategy, scope, and sequencing. Conduct sourcetotarget mapping workshops with business and IT stakeholders. Finalize migration approach including rehearsals, delta strategy, and cutover plan.
- Assess source PLM systems (Windchill, Agile, Teamcenter, custom systems) and define data mapping rules and identify data conflicts, duplicates, and quality issues.
- Lead endtoend migration using Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) through multiple rehearsal migrations (RH1 / RH2 / RH3) and Production migration.
- Define migration validation strategy and KPIs, support and govern business validation cycles post each rehearsal, drive defect resolution, reruns, and fix verification, support golive, cutover weekend, and hypercare.
- Provide technical guidance to Migration Consultants and Developers, Review and approve migration scripts, SQL transformations, and utilities, Work closely with Functional, CAD, Integration, and Infrastructure teams, Ensure complete migration documentation and knowledge transfer
Required Skills & Experience
- Very strong handson expertise in Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM)
- Proven experience in multiple endtoend Windchill migration programs
- Deep understanding of:
- Windchill object model and relationships
- Parts, BOMs, Documents, CAD, and Change data
- Lifecycles, versions, and iterations
- Strong SQL skills (Oracle / SQL Server) for largevolume data analysis
- Experience in Manufacturing / Industrial / Automotive / Medical Devices domains strongly preferred
- At least one nonWindchill Windchill migration experience is mandatory
- Typically 10–15+ years experience in PLM, with strong migration focus
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder management
