Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Diesel System Engineering with 2–3 years of experience in diesel engine systems, fuel injection, emissions, calibration, and testing. The candidate will be responsible for supporting diesel powertrain system development, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of diesel engine operation, fuel injection systems, emission control technologies, and engine calibration, along with hands-on exposure to testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities

Support diesel engine system development and integration activities.
Work on fuel injection system development, testing, and optimization.
Support engine performance, combustion, and emission-related development activities.
Perform and support engine calibration activities for performance, fuel economy, drivability, and emissions.
Analyze engine test data and identify performance or emission-related issues.
Support testing and validation of diesel engine systems under different operating conditions.
Participate in engine dynamometer and vehicle-level testing as required.
Troubleshoot issues related to fuel injection, combustion, emissions, and engine performance.
Coordinate with hardware, controls, calibration, testing, and other cross-functional teams.
Prepare test plans, test reports, calibration documentation, and technical reports.
Support root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Ensure development activities meet applicable automotive emission and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of diesel engine performance, efficiency, reliability, and emissions.

Must-Have Skills

2–3 years of experience in Diesel System / Powertrain Engineering.
Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and operation.
Good knowledge of fuel injection systems and injection strategies.
Understanding of diesel emission systems and emission control technologies.
Hands-on or practical exposure to engine calibration.
Experience in engine testing and validation.
Ability to analyze engine test data and troubleshoot technical issues.
Good understanding of engine performance, fuel economy, combustion, and emissions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with ECU/engine control systems.
Knowledge of common-rail diesel systems.
Exposure to EGR, DOC, DPF, SCR, and AdBlue/DEF systems.
Familiarity with CAN communication and automotive diagnostic tools.
Experience with calibration tools such as ETAS INCA, Vector CANape, or equivalent.
Exposure to engine dynamometer testing and vehicle testing.
Knowledge of applicable BS6 / Euro emission regulations.
Understanding of OBD and emission compliance requirements.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Automobile, or related Engineering discipline.
