About the Role
We are seeking a 3D Generalist (Stylized Characters & Props) to create vibrant, charming, and optimized 3D assets for an upcoming stylized co-op game in Unreal Engine.
In this role, you will focus on crafting stylized characters, modular outfits, and a wide variety of gameplay props (tools, consumables, interactables).
You will work closely with our engineering and animation team to deliver clean, game-ready meshes with rock-solid topology and readable textures that fit our stylized, cartoon aesthetic.
Responsibilities
- Model and texture stylized humanoid characters, customizable outfits, and accessories.
- Build stylized props, consumables (e.g., food, tools), and interactive items.
- Maintain clean edge flow and topology around joints to ensure seamless deformation by the rigging and animation team.
- Import, organize, and set up basic materials and static meshes inside Unreal Engine.
- Collaborate closely with our programmer, technical animator and other artists to maintain visual consistency and rapid asset delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in 3D modeling and UV unwrapping
- Strong eye for stylized, cartoon, or casual proportions, shapes, and silhouettes (clean, readable forms over hyper-realism)
- Experience with stylized texturing workflows
- Solid understanding of topology principles for joint deformation (shoulders, elbows, knees).
- Self-motivated with strong communication and time-management skills in a remote, small-team environment.
- A portfolio showcasing stylized 3D work (characters and props) tailored for games.
Nice to Haves
- Experience designing modular clothing/attachments that fit a shared base body.
- Basic understanding of how skeletons and skinning work (even if you don't do the final rigging)
