Job Description

Purpose: To execute and enhance testing processes, including automation and risk-based testing, while mentoring junior testers.

Contribution: Improves software quality by creating effective test scripts, tailoring testing efforts to high-risk areas, and supporting team development.

         Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute manual test cases and document bugs or defects found during testing.
  • Work independently and with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks.
  • Create and review test scripts, ensuring they are suitable for automation where possible.
  • Tailor test plans and efforts to focus on high-risk areas, optimizing testing time effectively.
  • Perform validation testing to ensure software meets business and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with developers to explain defects and collaborate on solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior testers to develop their skills and improve testing practices.
  • Learn and test a wider range of software solutions, expanding technical expertise.
  • Take on additional tasks aligned with abilities as required by the team.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in manual testing.
  • Ability to create and execute manual test cases and document bugs/defects.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Browser Developer Tools.
  • Proficient in using tools like Test Case Management, Test Plans, and Bug Tracking Systems.
  • Familiarity with ISTQB Foundation Level (or equivalent) concepts and ability to apply them in practice.
  • Smooth operation of basic QA tools with minimal oversight.
  • Consistently adheres to engineering standards adopted by the team or project.
  • Engages in clarifying requirements and tasks, contributing positively to projects.
  • Works on tasks independently, requiring little or no guidance.
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues and contributes to team activities.
  • May oversee others or make decisions that impact assigned tasks and projects.
  • Contributes to routine issue resolution and applies creative or methodical approaches to defined tasks.
  • Takes the initiative to identify and pursue professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrates appropriate working practices in security, privacy, and ethics in non-routine work.

Minimum skills, Knowledge and ability requirements :

  • Thorough understanding of relevant industry knowledge and practices (generic and specialized).
  • Strong knowledge of the organization's domain and ability to apply it effectively in unfamiliar situations.
  • Rapidly absorbs and critically assesses new information and applies it effectively.
  • Operates with solid communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail.
  • Awareness and adherence to GDPR and GCP.
