About Quantum Arcadia

Quantum Arcadia is a growing game development startup with a big vision — creating original, immersive gaming experiences across VR and PC.

We are currently working on Dreamscape, an adventure RPG experience, and Arcade Mania, a collection of vibrant arcade-inspired VR games.

As a startup, we move fast, experiment often, and give our team the opportunity to have a real impact on the games we build. We're looking for artists who don't just execute tasks, but want to contribute creatively and help shape the visual identity of our games.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and visually driven 2D Game Artist to join our team and help bring our VR and PC games to life.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in 2D art, a good understanding of visual appeal, composition, color, lighting, and game art, and the ability to adapt to different art styles based on creative direction.

You will work closely with game designers, 3D artists, and developers to create everything from concepts and environments to props, UI elements, icons, and promotional visuals.

This is an entry-to-mid-level role, but it comes with meaningful creative responsibility. We expect the artist to gradually take ownership of the visual quality and consistency of the 2D art they produce.

Key Responsibilities2D Game Art Production
  • Create high-quality 2D assets for VR and PC games, including:
  • Characters
  • Environments and backgrounds
  • Props
  • Icons & Menu
  • UI elements
  • Game HUD elements
  • Collectibles
  • Visual effects and supporting graphics
  • Promotional and marketing assets
  • In-game visual assets
  • Develop artwork based on existing creative direction, references, concepts, and gameplay requirements.
  • Adapt to different visual styles depending on the requirements of each game or feature.
  • Maintain consistency in visual language, proportions, color, lighting, and overall presentation.
Visual Development & Art Direction
  • Translate game design ideas and creative direction into visually appealing artwork.
  • Explore different visual approaches, compositions, color palettes, and styles when developing new assets.
  • Contribute ideas that improve the visual quality and overall presentation of the game.
  • Take increasing ownership of the 2D visual style and consistency of assigned game features.
  • Identify visual inconsistencies and proactively suggest improvements.
Asset Preparation
  • Prepare and organize layered artwork for animation and game implementation.
  • Create clean, editable source files with:
  • Logical layer structures
  • Clear naming conventions
  • Proper grouping
  • Animation-ready elements
  • Developer-friendly organization
  • Export optimized assets in the required formats and resolutions for VR and PC implementation.
  • Work with animators and developers to ensure assets are technically suitable for implementation.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with game designers, 3D artists, animators, developers, and producers throughout development.
  • Understand gameplay requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions.
  • Participate in feedback and iteration cycles.
  • Take ownership of assigned assets from initial concept through final implementation.
  • Support revisions and visual polish based on gameplay and production requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 1–4 years of experience in 2D game art, digital art, illustration, or a related field.

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of game-ready asset preparation and optimization.
  • Ability to create clean, organized, layered source files.
  • Good understanding of how 2D assets are used within game development pipelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and visual quality.
  • Ability to receive feedback, iterate quickly, and improve work based on direction.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong interest in games, especially VR, PC, adventure, RPG, or arcade games.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working on VR games or PC games.
  • Basic knowledge of Unity or another game engine.
  • Experience creating assets for VR/AR or interactive experiences.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted art workflows and generative AI tools.
  • Experience with other 2D tools.
  • Experience working on live games and content updates.
  • Experience creating promotional artwork, key art, or marketing assets.
  • Understanding of game UI/UX principles.
  • Experience working in a startup or small game development team.
