Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – O&M (Solar Site In-charge)

- BTech / BE in Electrical Engineering
- Valid State Electrical Supervisor / Electrical License (as per state regulations)
Job Purpose:
To manage end-to-end Operations & Maintenance of utility-scale solar power plants (30–100 MW), ensuring high plant availability, optimal generation, electrical safety compliance, and efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities:Plant Operations
- Overall site in-charge for daily operations of 30–100 MW solar power plant.
- Monitor plant generation, PR, availability, and electrical losses.
- Ensure reliable operation of inverters, HT/LT panels, transformers, pooling station, and evacuation lines.
Maintenance Management
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems.
- Coordinate with OEMs for inverters, transformers, protection systems, and SCADA.
- Ensure timely isolation, shutdowns, and restoration as per electrical safety norms.
Electrical Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with State Electrical Inspectorate, CEA regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain electrical licenses, approvals, and compliance documentation.
- Implement PTW, LOTO, and electrical safety procedures at site.
Performance & Reporting
- Analyze PR losses, trippings, and breakdowns; drive corrective actions.
- Prepare daily, monthly, and annual O&M MIS and performance reports.
Team & Vendor Management
- Lead site electrical engineers, technicians, and contractors.
- Manage module cleaning, security, and other site vendors.
- Ensure training, discipline, and productivity of site staff.
Coordination & Commercial Support
- Coordinate with SLDC, Discoms, and transmission utilities.
- Support audits, inspections, and PPA compliance.
- Manage spares, inventory, and O&M cost control.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in solar plant electrical systems and O&M.
- Hands-on experience with HT/LT systems, protection relays, and evacuation infrastructure.
- Sound understanding of statutory electrical compliance.
- Leadership capability to manage site independently.
- Willingness to stay full-time at site.
Mandatory Requirements:
- BTech Electrical Engineering.
- Valid State Electrical License (Supervisor / Competency Certificate).
- 8–14 years of Solar O&M experience.
- Experience handling 30–100 MW solar sites.
Preferred Experience:
- IPP O&M environment exposure.
- Experience dealing with multiple SLDCs and utilities.
- Multi-site O&M experience is an added advantage.
