Job Description: PMO / IT Project Manager

Location:Mumbai (Work from office role) : 5 Days a week

Role Overview

We are looking for a strong PMO / IT Project Manager who will work closely with the CIO and act as the coordination bridge between business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external technology vendors.

The role will be responsible for understanding business requirements, coordinating technology initiatives, tracking project delivery, ensuring clear communication, and driving timely execution of IT and digital transformation projects across functions.

The person will be based out of the Mumbai office and should be comfortable working directly with senior business leaders across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, and other business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Business Stakeholder Engagement

Work directly with business stakeholders such as the CFO, Supply Chain Head, Sales Head, Operations teams, and other functional leaders to understand technology and IT solutioning requirements.

Capture business needs clearly and translate them into structured requirements, action items, project plans, and coordination points for the CIO, IT team, and vendors.

Ensure regular engagement with business teams to track requirements, clarify expectations, and maintain alignment on project objectives.

Project Coordination and Delivery Management

Own end-to-end project coordination across business teams, internal IT teams, and external vendors.

Track project timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, open issues, and deliverables.

Ensure projects are progressing as per agreed timelines and escalate delays, blockers, or dependencies to the CIO and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.

Maintain visibility on all ongoing IT and digital initiatives through trackers, dashboards, status reports, and periodic reviews.

Communication and Governance

Ensure structured communication between all stakeholders involved in IT projects.

Set up and manage regular project review meetings, steering discussions, vendor reviews, and internal coordination meetings.

Prepare meeting notes, action trackers, project status updates, risk logs, and follow-up communications.

Ensure that all stakeholders have clear visibility on project progress, pending decisions, ownership, and next steps.

Vendor and Internal IT Coordination

Coordinate with external vendors, implementation partners, and service providers for project execution, issue resolution, documentation, and delivery tracking.

Work closely with internal IT teams to ensure requirements are understood, dependencies are managed, and execution remains aligned with business priorities.

Support the CIO in managing vendor performance, project reviews, and delivery accountability.

CIO Support and PMO Ownership

Work directly with the CIO to drive project governance, prioritization, documentation, and execution visibility.

Act as the central PMO point for IT and digital initiatives across the organization.

Support the CIO with project updates, executive summaries, decision notes, and escalation points.

Bring discipline, structure, and follow-through across all active technology projects.

Required Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate should have 6 to 8 years of experience in IT project coordination, PMO, business technology coordination, or project management roles.

Should have experience working with business stakeholders and technology teams.

Should be able to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, vendors, and timelines simultaneously.

Strong communication, coordination, documentation, and follow-up skills are essential.

Should be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and should be able to drive meetings, capture requirements, track actions, and ensure closure.

Experience in ERP, business applications, analytics, digital transformation, workflow automation, or enterprise IT projects will be preferred.

Prior experience in FMCG, manufacturing, food processing, retail, distribution, or supply chain-led businesses will be an added advantage.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands-on PMO professional who can bring structure and visibility to IT projects. The person should not only coordinate meetings but also drive action closure, ensure accountability, manage communication, and help the CIO deliver technology initiatives smoothly across the organization.

The role requires someone who is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced business environment with multiple stakeholders.

Compensation

Budget: Up to ₹15 LPA, depending on experience and fit.
