The role involves reviewing designs and technical implementations, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, and mentoring engineers in PHY development. It is suited to an experienced engineer with a relevant bachelor's degree and a background in telecommunications, electronics, communications, computer science, or electrical and electronics engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Develop NR physical-layer software and implement 5G and 6G features, delivering PHY capabilities aligned with wireless system requirements and relevant 3GPP standards.
Build and refine PHY algorithms using C++, and prototype signal-processing approaches in MATLAB to assess their suitability for physical-layer software.
Validate PHY functionality with Python-based work and analyze wireless system performance metrics to identify behavior, assess results, and inform engineering decisions.
Integrate PHY components with broader systems, coordinating technical interfaces and resolving implementation issues in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Review designs and technical implementations, providing clear technical feedback that supports sound engineering decisions and reliable physical-layer development.
Mentor engineers on PHY development, sharing domain knowledge and supporting their ability to deliver NR physical-layer software and features.

Essential Skills & Technologies

Demonstrated NR PHY development capability, including experience developing physical-layer software and implementing wireless features for 5G systems.
Strong C++ skills for building PHY algorithms, with an ability to translate physical-layer concepts into robust software implementations.
Practical MATLAB experience prototyping signal-processing approaches and evaluating algorithm behavior in wireless communications contexts.
Python capability for validating PHY functionality, examining results, and supporting repeatable engineering analysis of physical-layer implementations.
Knowledge of wireless communications, physical-layer principles, and signal processing, with the ability to analyze wireless system performance metrics.
Familiarity with 3GPP standards and their relevance to implementing and reviewing NR physical-layer features and technical designs.
Ability to integrate PHY components with systems, collaborate across engineering disciplines, review technical implementations, and provide technical leadership or mentoring.

Additional Plus

Experience contributing to 6G wireless communications or feature development, extending practical NR PHY expertise toward emerging physical-layer requirements.
A Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical and Electronics Engineering supports the role's engineering foundation.
Experience in telecommunications or related electrical and electronics industries can provide useful context for wireless systems and PHY development.

What You'll Bring

At least six and up to ten years of relevant professional experience, bringing senior-level capability in NR PHY development and wireless physical-layer software.
A Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with relevant specialization in NR PHY, 5G and 6G wireless communications, or physical-layer software.
Strong practical command of C++, MATLAB, and Python for algorithm development, signal-processing prototyping, and PHY validation, alongside knowledge of wireless communications and 3GPP standards.
Technical leadership through design review, cross-functional collaboration, system integration, performance analysis, and mentoring engineers in physical-layer development.
