About Gurukul The School

Gurukul The School is a nationally reputed Pre-K to Grade XII institution committed to nurturing confident, well-rounded and future-ready individuals through holistic, value-based and progressive education.

The school believes in creating an ecosystem where academic excellence, character building, innovation, leadership, creativity and life skills go hand in hand. With a strong emphasis on experiential learning, student-centric practices, technology integration and continuous institutional development, Gurukul fosters a professional, collaborative and high-performance environment.

At Gurukul, the Branding, Communication & Media vertical captures the life of the institution in real time—its people, achievements, events, ideas, learning experiences and everyday moments—and transforms them into meaningful visual stories across digital platforms.

As we expand this vertical, we are looking for experienced creative professionals who can help take our visual communication and storytelling to the next level.

About the Role

We are looking for a Video Editor – Branding, Communication & Media who combines strong technical editing skills with creative judgement and a genuine understanding of visual storytelling.

This is a hands-on role focused on transforming real school experiences into compelling video content for social media, digital communication, events and institutional storytelling. The ideal candidate should be comfortable creating short-form vertical content, Reels, 30–60 second cuts and structured 3–5 minute films, while maintaining quality, pace and narrative clarity.

You will work closely with the Head – Branding, Communication & Media, Photographer, Graphic Artist and Media Coordinator, as well as with academic and administrative teams. The role requires someone who can work at speed during live events and deliver quality content within tight timelines.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Video Editing & Storytelling

Create engaging video content that captures the school's culture, achievements, people and experiences with strong pacing and narrative flow.

2. Social Media Content

Produce Reels, Shorts, Stories and 30–60 second videos adapted to different digital platforms.

3. Event & Real-Time Content

Work with the media team during events and deliver same-day or rapid-turnaround edits whenever required.

4. Post-Production

Handle editing, sound synchronisation, music selection, audio levels, basic colour correction, titling and final finishing.

5. Creative Collaboration

Work from briefs, respond positively to feedback and collaborate with the wider Branding, Communication & Media team to deliver the required outcome.

6. Technology & AI

Stay updated with emerging editing technologies and use relevant AI-enabled video, image and content tools to improve efficiency and creative possibilities.

7. Brand Standards

Ensure that all video content reflects the school's visual identity, values and communication standards.

What Success Looks Like

The right person will not simply edit footage.

They will be able to look at a school event or activity and identify the moment, emotion, person or detail that can become a story.

They should be fast enough for real-time requirements, technically strong enough to maintain professional quality and curious enough to continuously learn new tools and formats.

At Gurukul, video is a means of communicating who we are, what we do and what we value.
