The Role

We're looking for a Senior Business Development Executive who can identify opportunities, build strong client relationships, and convert prospects into paying customers.

This is a hands-on sales role for someone who understands how to prospect, qualify leads, conduct compelling product demos, handle objections, negotiate commercials, and close deals.

You'll own your sales pipeline, work toward revenue targets, and help businesses understand how AiSensy can improve their marketing, customer engagement, and business growth through WhatsApp.

The goal is simple: build a strong pipeline, close quality deals, and consistently deliver revenue.

What You'll Own

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

Identify and research potential customers across relevant industries and business segments.
Generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, targeted outreach, referrals, inbound leads, and other channels.
Identify decision-makers and engage key stakeholders within target accounts.
Understand customer pain points and qualify opportunities based on business needs, potential, and buying intent.
Build a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects.

2. Sales Conversations, Demos & Deal Closure

Conduct discovery calls, product demonstrations, and sales presentations.
Understand customer requirements and demonstrate how AiSensy's platform can solve their business challenges.
Position AiSensy's WhatsApp Marketing and Engagement solutions around customer use cases and business outcomes.
Handle objections related to pricing, competition, product capabilities, and implementation.
Negotiate commercials, manage follow-ups, and drive opportunities toward closure.
Maintain momentum throughout the sales cycle and avoid losing qualified opportunities due to poor follow-up.

3. Revenue & Sales Pipeline Ownership

Own monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Manage the complete sales pipeline, from initial outreach to deal closure.
Maintain accurate pipeline data, opportunity stages, follow-ups, and forecasts.
Track key sales metrics, including:
Leads generated
Qualified opportunities
Product demos completed
Demo-to-closure conversion
Deal value
Sales cycle
Revenue achieved
Identify bottlenecks in the sales funnel and take corrective action.
Consistently work toward achieving and exceeding revenue targets.

4. Account Development & Business Expansion

Understand customer business models, growth objectives, and WhatsApp use cases.
Identify opportunities to expand product adoption and increase account value.
Build relationships with decision-makers and relevant stakeholders.
Work with Customer Success and Account Management teams to ensure smooth handovers and identify future growth opportunities.
Develop long-term customer relationships that create opportunities for repeat business and expansion.

5. Market Research & Competitive Intelligence

Research target industries, customer segments, competitors, and emerging market opportunities.
Understand how businesses use WhatsApp for marketing, lead generation, engagement, and commerce.
Stay updated on trends in SaaS, digital marketing, customer engagement, and conversational commerce.
Share customer objections, competitor insights, and market feedback with the Marketing, Product, and Sales teams.
Use market insights to improve prospecting, sales messaging, and conversion rates.

6. Strategic Partnerships & Business Opportunities

Identify potential business opportunities through agencies, technology providers, and ecosystem partners.
Explore collaborations that can generate qualified leads and new revenue.
Support partnership-led sales initiatives and joint go-to-market activities.
Build relationships with relevant stakeholders to expand AiSensy's reach across customer segments.

7. CRM, Reporting & Sales Discipline

Maintain accurate and updated records in CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
Track every opportunity from qualification to closure.
Prepare regular reports on pipeline health, sales performance, forecasts, and key learnings.
Use data to understand conversion rates, identify gaps, and improve sales productivity.
Maintain a disciplined follow-up process and ensure no qualified opportunity goes unattended.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Marketing to improve lead quality, targeting, and campaign effectiveness.
Coordinate with Product and Customer Success teams to address customer requirements and ensure smooth onboarding.
Share customer feedback and recurring objections to improve product positioning and sales enablement.
Collaborate with the broader Sales team to share learnings, improve processes, and achieve business goals.

9. Team Contribution & Mentoring

Share effective prospecting, discovery, demo, and closing practices with junior team members.
Support new team members with sales processes and product knowledge where required.
Contribute to a performance-driven sales culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

Must Have

3–6 years of experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, Inside Sales, or a similar revenue-focused role.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing deals.
Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles, lead qualification, discovery, product demos, negotiation, and closing.
Experience managing a sales pipeline independently.
Strong prospecting, follow-up, objection-handling, and deal-closing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to engage decision-makers and understand business requirements.
Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or similar tools.
Strong commercial awareness and a data-driven approach to sales.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities while maintaining follow-up discipline.
Strong ownership mindset and willingness to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Good to Have

Experience in B2B SaaS, MarTech, CPaaS, CRM, AI, or technology platforms.
Familiarity with WhatsApp Business API, WhatsApp Marketing, or conversational commerce.
Experience selling to mid-market or enterprise customers.
Experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
Exposure to channel partnerships, agency ecosystems, or partner-led sales.
Experience with sales forecasting, pipeline reporting, and conversion analysis.
Experience mentoring junior sales professionals.
Understanding of digital marketing, customer acquisition, and automation.

What Will Make You Stand Out

You've consistently achieved or exceeded your sales targets.
You can demonstrate your contribution to revenue and deal closures.
You're comfortable generating your own pipeline rather than relying entirely on inbound leads.
You can conduct a compelling product demo and connect features to business outcomes.
You know how to handle difficult objections and move deals forward.
You understand the difference between a busy pipeline and a pipeline that actually converts.
You can build relationships with decision-makers and manage multiple stakeholders.
You use CRM data to prioritize opportunities and improve conversion rates.
You take ownership of deals from first conversation to closure.
You combine strong communication with commercial judgment and execution speed.

Establish a disciplined sales and reporting rhythm.

6–12 Months

Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
Build a healthy and predictable sales pipeline.
Improve demo-to-closure and lead-to-customer conversion rates.
