About This Role

Company Description SRM University-AP is a multi-stream research university offering programs across engineering, social sciences, liberal arts, and management. The institution aims to become a world-class university that is globally connected, nationally relevant, and regionally transformative. SRM University-AP has an ambitious plan to grow to over 20,000 students and 1,500 faculty members within the next decade. The university emphasizes high-impact research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative teaching. Prospective PhD candidates will join a dynamic academic environment with strong institutional support for research and professional development.

Role Description The PhD Candidate in Physics, specializing in Computational Materials Science, will engage in full-time research focused on modeling and simulation of materials using computational and theoretical methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, designing and running simulations, analyzing data, and interpreting results to advance understanding of materials properties and behavior. The candidate will collaborate with supervisors and research groups, contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals, present findings at conferences, and support grant proposals and project reports. Additional tasks include assisting with laboratory or departmental activities, mentoring junior students when needed, and participating in seminars and workshops. This is a full-time, on-site role based at SRM University-AP in Vijayawada.
