Job Description

Baan Functional Consultant (Open) - Bangalore | 4 to 7 Years

Johnson Controls helps create smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, and this role supports the ERP platforms that keep business operations running smoothly. As a Baan Functional Consultant, you will help business users and support teams maintain stable ERP processes, resolve functional issues, and improve the day-to-day experience across Baan IV and ERP LN environments.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Baan Functional Consultant with hands-on experience in ERP functional support and user issue resolution. In this role, you will work closely with business users, functional teams, and technical teams to analyze issues, support production operations, validate process changes, and help ensure reliable ERP performance across the Baan landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Provide functional support for Baan IV, ERP LN FP3, and LN 10.4 ERP applications.
Analyze user incidents, identify functional gaps, and support timely resolution with the right teams.
Work with business users to clarify process issues, reproduce problems, and confirm expected outcomes.
Support production issues, change activities, and functional testing for ERP process updates.
Coordinate with technical teams on fixes, enhancements, and interface-related issues.
Validate data and process integrity across ERP transactions and support root-cause analysis for recurring issues.
Document resolutions, process notes, and functional changes clearly for continuity and knowledge sharing.

How You Will Do It

Take ownership of issues end to end, keeping user impact, accountability, safety, and integrity in focus until the process is restored or the right workaround is in place.
Stay close to the business process and the people using it so you can understand the real problem, not just the symptom.
Use structured analysis and candid root-cause discussion to prevent repeat issues and improve support quality over time.
Work as one team with functional, technical, and business partners to move changes forward smoothly and remove obstacles quickly.
Document clearly and follow through on commitments so fixes, decisions, and process changes are easy to trace and support.

Qualifications

4 to 7 years of experience in Baan functional support, ERP consulting, or application support.
Hands-on experience with Baan IV, ERP LN FP3, and LN 10.4 ERP environments.
Strong understanding of ERP business processes and functional issue handling in a production support setting.
Experience working with business users to analyze issues, validate solutions, and support testing or process changes.
Ability to coordinate effectively with technical teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, and a structured approach to problem-solving.

Nice to Have

Exposure to Baan development, customization, or integration support.
Working knowledge of Baan technical architecture, SQL, or data extraction activities.
Experience supporting third-party interfaces or Baan EDI-related activities.

Why Join Us

At Johnson Controls, you will be part of a collaborative environment where practical problem-solving, reliability, and teamwork matter. This role offers the opportunity to support core ERP systems that help keep operations running effectively and to build deeper expertise in the Baan and ERP LN ecosystem.

If you are ready to bring your Baan functional experience to a role that values ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement, we would like to hear from you.
