Job Title : Business Development Manager-International

Location: Delhi

Company : Zen Technologies Limited

About Zen Technologies

Zen Technologies (NSE: ZENTEC) is a 33-year-old listed Indian defence technology company, founded with the conviction that India must be unbeatable in war. Its products — combat training simulators, counter-drone systems, autonomous weapon stations, loitering munitions, and interceptor drones — are in active use with the Indian Armed Forces and are increasingly sought by defence forces globally.

Zen is not a trading company or a systems integrator dependent on foreign technology. It develops its own IP, manufactures its own systems, and intends to be globally #1 in every domain it enters. The company is targeting ₹3,000–4,000 Cr in revenues within the next 2–3 years, from a base built on proprietary technology and sovereign manufacturing capability.

We are looking for people who are motivated by what gets built, not just by what they earn. The systems Zen makes are what Indian soldiers rely on. A failure to deliver is not a business problem — it is a national security problem. People who find that weight energising will thrive here. People who are primarily looking for the next line on their CV are better off elsewhere.

Why This Role Exists

India's defence technology sector is expanding rapidly, and Zen Technologies is actively pursuing a global presence. The absence of dedicated international business development leadership limits Zen's ability to capitalize on export opportunities and establish strong footholds in key foreign markets. Without this role, international sales growth, strategic partnerships, and government engagement are slower and fragmented.

This position will bridge that gap by developing and executing Zen's international business strategy, engaging directly with foreign defence stakeholders, and ensuring timely identification and conversion of export opportunities. The right person will strengthen Zen's global credibility and drive sustainable international revenue growth.

The Role

The Business Development Manager – International owns the end-to-end international business development function for Zen. This includes market scouting, relationship management with foreign governments and defence agencies, and export operations execution. Their accountability begins with identifying export opportunities and extends through contract execution, partnership formation, and market penetration in target regions.

They have authority over international BD strategies, customer engagement plans, and export operations, but work collaboratively with internal product, legal, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Identify and develop business opportunities for Zen products in international markets, particularly in the defense sector.
Actively promote Zen's counter-drone and other defense solutions to foreign customers, government agencies, and defense organizations.
Engage with key decision-makers in target markets, ensuring timely follow-ups and in-person meetings as required.
Gather competitive intelligence, including pricing trends and strategies of competitor companies.
Schedule and facilitate virtual/live demonstrations of Zen products for potential clients.
Represent the company at global defense forums, trade shows, seminars, and exhibitions organized by SIDM, DDP, FICCI, CII, ASOCHAM, and other relevant entities.
Collaborate with Indian Defense Attachés (DAs) to explore and leverage business opportunities.
Coordinate visits of foreign delegations to Zen facilities and arrange high-level meetings with stakeholders.
Maintain regular communication with Zen's international representatives, ensuring strategic alignment and market updates.
Propose and coordinate Zen's participation in key international defense exhibitions, webinars, and networking events.
Provide detailed reports on export-related activities, highlighting progress, challenges, and key action points for management.
Manage and drive end-to-end export operations, ensuring compliance with international regulations and industry best practices.
Undertake any additional export and business development tasks as directed by the management.

Skills & Competencies Required:

Proven experience in global business strategy development and execution.
Strong knowledge of defense export markets, particularly in counter-drone solutions and high-tech defense systems.
Ability to represent Zen at international forums and negotiate strategic partnerships.
Expertise in contract negotiation and high-value deal structuring.
In-depth understanding of government and defense procurement processes across various international markets.
Excellent relationship management skills with defense stakeholders, embassies, and government bodies.

Education & Qualifications:

MBA/PGDM (Marketing/International Business) or equivalent.
Additional certifications in international trade, business strategy, or defense procurement will be an added advantage.
Preference will be given to retired senior defense officers with relevant business development experience in Private industry after Retirement
