What we are looking for:-

We are seeking an Accountant Property Accounting to oversee financial management and reporting for a portfolio of real estate properties. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals and analytical skills, hands-on experience in property accounting, lease structures, reconciliations, and month-end close processes, while managing complex financial data and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for real estate properties in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee monthly and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements.
Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets and forecasts; monitor budget variances and provide detailed analysis and explanations for deviations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries for all property-related transactions, including rent, expenses, accruals, and capital expenditures.
Oversee AP and AR processes for property transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.
Prepare and review annual CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations in line with lease agreements and industry standards.
Assist in property tax filings and coordinate with external tax consultants to ensure compliance.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor queries.
Perform in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, ROI evaluation, and performance insights.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control within the property accounting function.

Requirements

CA Qualified (most preferred).
Minimum 3+ years of experience in accounting, with relevant experience in property accounting.
Minimum 1+ year of hands-on Yardi experience (must-have).
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy.

You Must Have

CA Qualified (preferred).
4+ years of accounting experience, with property accounting exposure.
1+ year of hands-on Yardi experience (non-negotiable).
Solid grounding in GAAP and financial reporting.
Strong Excel skills.
Sharp analytical and communication abilities.
