Role Summary

The Team Lead is responsible for leading the new Wealth Management AML Client Risk Framework Review Team in Pune.

The role is responsible for daily business-as-usual delivery, process establishment, service quality, operational risk management, performance management, team culture, and alignment with the broader Wealth Management strategy.

The position requires strong operational leadership, sound AML/KYC technical knowledge, effective stakeholder management, and the ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into sustainable processes, controls, and measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership and Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop team members through clear objectives, regular one-to-one discussions, timely feedback, and documented performance management.
Build team capability and coverage through effective recruitment, onboarding, training, succession planning, engagement, and retention.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable culture focused on ownership, continuous improvement, and business outcomes.
Recognize strong performance, address performance concerns consistently and promptly, and support career development.
Maintain effective relationships with team members, AML partners, Wealth Management stakeholders, and support functions.

Operational and Service Delivery

Lead day-to-day CRF operations, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with established procedures, service levels, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Manage workload, capacity, and resources to ensure timely completion of AML reviews, periodic client reviews, transaction monitoring activities, and due diligence requirements.
Provide technical leadership on AML/KYC matters, resolve complex issues and escalations, and serve as a key point of contact for audits, walkthroughs, and stakeholder inquiries.
Monitor operational performance, KPIs, and management information to drive service excellence, productivity, capacity utilization, and end-to-end business outcomes.

Risk, Control, and Compliance Management

Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, risk, and policy requirements while maintaining a strong control environment.
Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and compliance risks, control gaps, and process weaknesses.
Support RCSA, quality, and control monitoring activities, driving remediation and continuous improvement.
Partner with AML, Compliance, Risk, and Audit teams to strengthen controls, implement regulatory changes, and promote sound risk management practices.

Stakeholder Management and Client Service

Build effective relationships with business, AML, operational, and project stakeholders across locations.
Communicate priorities, risks, performance, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
Act as a key escalation point and represent the team in operational, risk, audit, client, and project forums.
Collaborate across teams to resolve issues, improve service delivery, and support business objectives.

Process Improvement and Strategic Change

Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, scalability, and risk management.
Lead or support transitions, migrations, regulatory change initiatives, and strategic projects.
Leverage management information, trend analysis, and operational insights to identify improvement opportunities and measure outcomes.
Maintain effective procedures, documentation, and training materials while promoting successful change adoption across the team.

Technical Knowledge & Requirements

Minimum 6 years of AML/KYC experience, including 1 year of people management.
Strong knowledge of AML/KYC regulations, customer due diligence, KYC remediation, and Wealth Management onboarding processes.
Experience supporting complex client and entity structures, including trusts, funds, and legal entities.
Knowledge of operational risk, controls, RCSA, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply them in practice.
Proficiency in AML/KYC systems, CRM workflows, and Microsoft Office applications.
CAMS/ACAMS certification preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 6 years of AML/KYC experience, including 1 year of people management experience.
Experience supporting Wealth Management clients and managing service delivery, operational risk, controls, and process improvement initiatives.
Experience leading or supporting transitions, change initiatives, and operational enhancements preferred.
Professional certification such as CAMS or ACAMS preferred.
