This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Analyst based in India.

This role sits at the intersection of international business, technology, logistics, and regulatory compliance.

You will review cross-border deals and determine whether products, customers, destinations, and shipping arrangements meet applicable requirements.

The position combines regulatory research, contract interpretation, restricted-party screening, and export classification analysis.

You will work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Vendor Operations, international partners, and legal or trade compliance teams.

Your assessments will serve as an important compliance checkpoint, helping the business move quickly while managing regulatory and commercial risk.

The role is highly detail-oriented and suited to someone who can make sound, well-documented decisions under time pressure.

It also offers the opportunity to improve processes, build internal expertise, and support the expansion of international business capabilities.

Accountabilities

Review international deal and order requests to determine export and shipment eligibility before transactions proceed.
Gather and validate key deal information, including destination country, end customer, end use, products or SKUs, and OEM or vendor details.
Track requests through the review process and maintain accurate status information and audit records.
Review OEM and manufacturer agreements to confirm shipment authorizations, territorial restrictions, distributor limitations, and licensing requirements.
Build and maintain reference materials documenting OEM shipping permissions by country or region.
Screen countries, customers, individuals, and other counterparties against applicable U.S. and international restricted-party and sanctions lists, including OFAC, BIS, EU, and UN lists.
Investigate potential screening matches, resolve false positives where appropriate, and escalate confirmed or ambiguous matches according to established procedures.
Review ECCN, HTS, CCATS, and country-of-origin information to assess export eligibility and identify potential licensing or authorization requirements under applicable EAR and ITAR regulations.
Validate export information included on freight forwarder commercial invoices and escalate discrepancies between vendor-provided and independently verified classifications.
Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation covering screening results, classification findings, approvals, holds, declines, and final determinations.
Produce reporting on deal volumes, outcomes, and recurring compliance risks, while identifying opportunities to improve review speed and accuracy.
Develop and improve compliance checklists, tools, reference materials, training content, workflows, and internal policies.
Collaborate with international partners on expanding cross-border capabilities and aligning quotes and pricing for new client opportunities.
Educate Account Executives on cross-border processes, timelines, documentation requirements, and compliance considerations, serving as a resource for international deal questions.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in export compliance, international trade, global logistics, or a related analytical or compliance-focused role.
Working knowledge of U.S. export control regulations, particularly EAR and ITAR, as well as OFAC economic sanctions programs.
Familiarity with ECCN, HTS classification, CCATS documentation, and export-control requirements.
Experience screening transactions or counterparties against restricted and denied-party lists.
Strong research, analytical, and investigative skills, combined with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to interpret OEM, manufacturer, distribution, and reseller agreements to determine geographic shipping authorization and related restrictions.
Strong written communication skills, particularly for documenting findings, decisions, risks, and escalations.
Experience using ERP, CRM, and productivity platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or comparable systems.
Sound judgment when handling ambiguous, sensitive, or high-stakes compliance decisions under time pressure.
High integrity and willingness to escalate potential risks rather than making unsupported assumptions.
Strong process orientation, documentation discipline, and ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.
Effective cross-functional collaboration skills when working with Sales, Legal, Vendor Operations, Purchasing, and international partners.
A background with a technology VAR, distributor, or OEM manufacturer is preferred.
Familiarity with distributor platforms such as TD SYNNEX, Ingram Micro, Jenne, or Carahsoft is a plus.
Experience with trade compliance screening software or tools is advantageous.
Export compliance certification such as CUSECO or CUSECP is a plus.
A bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
