Summary:

As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying system anomalies and ensuring smooth operation of critical applications. The position demands continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and collaborating with different teams to maintain system stability and performance, thereby supporting the overall business objectives effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
Responsible for team decisions.
Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
Coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize and address system issues promptly.
Mentor junior team members to enhance their problem-solving capabilities.
Ensure documentation of incidents and resolutions to support knowledge sharing.
Continuously evaluate system performance and recommend improvements.

Professional & Technical Skills:

Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM System i (AS/400) RPG IV.
Experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex application issues on IBM System i platforms.
Strong knowledge of system integration and batch processing within IBM System i environments.
Ability to analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify root causes.
Familiarity with change management processes and version control in software support.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on maintaining high system availability.

Additional Information:

The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in IBM System i (AS/400) RPG IV.
This position is based at our MDC5C - SEZ office.
A 15 years full time education is required.
