1. Role Purpose

We are looking for a Product Manager – Grid-Tie Inverters who will own the complete product lifecycle of Loom Solar's on-grid inverter portfolio—from market research, product specification and OEM development to launch, pricing, sales enablement, quality, service and product profitability.

The person will act as the bridge between customer, sales, engineering, R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, service and business teams.

The objective is to build a competitive and scalable Loom Solar Grid-Tie Inverter product portfolio for residential, commercial and industrial customers.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Product Strategy

Develop 1–3 year strategy for the grid-tie inverter business.
Define product portfolio by:

1–5 kW residential
5–20 kW
20–50 kW
50–100 kW
100 kW+ C&I

Identify gaps in Loom Solar's existing portfolio.
Benchmark competitors on:

Price
Efficiency
Warranty
Features
Reliability
MPPT configuration
Communication
Serviceability

Develop product roadmap based on market demand and technology trends.

B. Market & Customer Understanding

Regularly engage with:

Solar dealers
EPC companies
System integrators
Distributors
Rooftop customers
C&I customers
Project developers
Service teams

Understand key customer pain points such as:

Installation complexity
Inverter failures
Grid issues
Monitoring
Warranty claims
After-sales service
Low generation
Remote troubleshooting
Pricing pressure

Convert customer problems into product requirements.

3. Product Development

Own the complete development process:

Market Need → PRD → Technical Specification → OEM/R&D → Prototype → Testing → Certification → Pilot → Launch → Scale

Prepare detailed Product Requirement Documents covering:

Rated power
Maximum DC voltage
MPPT voltage range
Number of MPPTs
Maximum input current
Maximum efficiency
European efficiency
AC voltage/frequency
IP rating
Operating temperature
Communication protocols
Wi-Fi/4G/RS485
Remote monitoring

4. OEM & Vendor Management

Identify and evaluate inverter OEM/ODM partners.
Prepare technical and commercial comparison of suppliers.
Conduct vendor qualification.
Negotiate:

Payment terms
Lead time
Spare parts
Software/firmware support
Exclusivity

Establish supplier performance scorecards.
Work with sourcing and quality teams to improve product cost and reliability.

5. Product Certification & Compliance

Ensure products meet applicable Indian and international requirements.

Coordinate with engineering, testing agencies and certification teams for:

BIS requirements
IEC standards
Grid compliance
Utility/DISCOM requirements
Safety requirements
EMC requirements
Factory inspection
Product testing
Certification documentation

Maintain a product compliance checklist before commercial launch.

Own the complete product launch plan.

Work closely with Service and Quality teams to reduce field failures.

Responsibilities include:

Analyze inverter failure data.
Identify recurring failure modes.
Conduct RCA.
Drive CAPA.
Track warranty claims.
Monitor MTBF.
Improve firmware/hardware.
Improve installation practices.
Develop preventive troubleshooting guides.
Create remote diagnostic capability.

Goal: Product reliability should improve every quarter.

10. Sales & Channel Enablement

Support the sales organization with technical and commercial tools.

Develop:

Dealer training
Installer certification
Product comparison sheets
Competitor battle cards
FAQ documents
Product selection guide
System sizing guide
Installation checklist
Troubleshooting guide

Train:

TSO → ASM → RSM/ZSM → Dealer → Installer

11. Digital Product & Monitoring

Work with technology/product teams to improve:

Installer dashboard
Customer dashboard
Warranty registration
Service ticket integration

Integration with Loom's broader solar + inverter + battery + energy management ecosystem will be an important responsibility.
