Security & Discipline Officer

Job Summary

K.R. Mangalam University is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security & Discipline Officer to support the day-to-day security operations and ensure a safe, secure, and disciplined campus environment. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising security personnel, monitoring campus activities, maintaining discipline, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with the University's security policies and procedures. The role reports to the General Manager – Security & Discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Operations

Supervise the daily deployment and functioning of security guards across the campus.
Monitor entry and exit points to ensure authorized access to the University.
Conduct regular security patrols of academic buildings, administrative blocks, hostels, parking areas, and common spaces.
Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and promptly report any suspicious activities or security concerns.
Ensure proper visitor management and vehicle checking procedures are followed.
Assist in safeguarding university property, infrastructure, and assets.

2. Campus Discipline

Support the implementation of the University's discipline policies and procedures.
Maintain discipline across academic blocks, hostels, parking areas, and common spaces.
Handle routine disciplinary matters involving students, staff, and visitors, and escalate serious issues to senior management.
Prepare and maintain incident reports and daily security records.

3. Emergency Response

Respond promptly to security incidents, medical emergencies, fire alarms, accidents, and other emergencies.
Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and crowd management during emergencies.
Participate in fire safety drills and disaster preparedness programs.
Ensure emergency equipment is functional and report maintenance requirements.

4. Coordination & Event Security

Coordinate with internal departments to address routine security requirements.
Assist in managing security arrangements during examinations, admissions, university events, conferences, and VIP visits.
Support coordination with local police and emergency services whenever required.

5. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain daily security logs, visitor records, incident reports, and shift handover registers.
Ensure compliance with university security policies, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
Report security observations and recommend corrective actions to the reporting manager.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
Preference will be given to Retired Defence, Paramilitary, or Police Personnel, or candidates with relevant security management experience.
Certification in Security Management, Fire & Safety, or Disaster Management will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of campus security operations and access control systems.
Familiarity with CCTV surveillance, visitor management, and incident reporting.
Good leadership and team coordination skills.
Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during emergencies.

Preferred Location

Candidates from Delhi NCR (Gurugram/Delhi) will be given preference.
