As part of our international expansion, we are looking for a Manager / Sr. Manager - International Sales and Business Development to establish and scale our dealer and distributor network across GCC/Middle East and Africa.

Location:Mumbai-based / willing to operate from Mumbai, with international markets handled from India.

Role & responsibilities:

Establish, develop, and scale the company dealer and distributor network across GCC/Middle East and Africa.
Develop and execute market-entry and international business development strategies for priority countries.
Identify high-potential markets based on construction activity, acoustic awareness, competition, import potential, pricing, and commercial viability.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline and database of prospective international partners.
Conduct partner due diligence covering financial strength, market reputation, geographic reach, sales manpower, warehousing, customer base, architect relationships, and competing brand associations.
Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, margins, territory, exclusivity, annual targets, stocking commitments, payment terms, and marketing responsibilities.
Develop relationships with architects, interior designers, acoustic consultants, PMCs, contractors, developers, and other specification influencers.
Drive product specifications and position the company's solutions based on acoustic performance, aesthetics, sustainability, design, and overall value proposition.
Conduct competitor mapping, pricing analysis, market intelligence, and country-level opportunity assessments.
Identify local requirements relating to certifications, fire ratings, sustainability standards, product dimensions, colours, finishes, packaging, and installation systems.
Work closely with Product, Design, Manufacturing, and Marketing teams to align the product offering with international market requirements.
Train and support distributors and their sales teams on products, applications, technical features, and brand positioning.
Develop annual business plans, revenue targets, and market-development activities with appointed channel partners.
Monitor distributor performance, sales pipelines, project opportunities, collections, and market-development progress.
Participate in international exhibitions, trade events, architect presentations, consultant meetings, and customer engagements where relevant.
Travel extensively to priority markets for distributor evaluation, partner appointment, training, relationship development, and business generation.
Manage commercial discussions related to export pricing, Incoterms, logistics, payment terms, and collections.
Maintain structured CRM reporting, market databases, opportunity pipelines, and periodic management reviews.
Act as the organization's voice of the international market, providing continuous feedback on customer needs, competition, product trends, and emerging opportunities.

Preferred candidate profile

Ideal candidates should have 8 - 15 years of B2B sales/business-development experience, and exposure to handling international markets.

Industry background first preference: Architectural products ,Office Interior products, metal ceilings, architectural interior systems, drywall/partition systems, insulation or building materials. Architectural surfaces, flooring, façade, hardware, laminates, or other acoustics, acoustic ceilings, PET acoustic panels, mineral fibre ceilings specification-led B2B building materials. No other industries / products other than above are preferred.

Travel: Comfortable with frequent international travel for distributor development, architect/consultant meetings, exhibitions, product training and market visits.

Dealer/distributor creation: Must have demonstrated experience in identifying, evaluating, appointing and developing new distributors/dealers, rather than merely servicing inherited export customers. Candidates should have personally handled international distributor/dealer development, preferably across Middle East and Africa.

Strong experience dealing with architects, consultants, contractors, distributors and project/specification channels would be highly desirable.

Knowledge of export commercials, distributor margins, payment terms, Incoterms, logistics and international trade is must.

Communication: Strong English business communication, presentations, negotiations and culturally sensitive relationship management. Any additional relevant regional language is an advantage, not a requirement.

Systems: CRM discipline, pipeline management, country-wise forecasting, distributor performance tracking, MIS and structured reporting.

Candidates whose experience is primarily in export documentation, shipping documentation or back-office export operations will not be suitable for this position.
