We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist Service within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This is an exciting opportunity to work autonomously and as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, supporting patients living with chronic respiratory conditions to improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life. You will provide specialist assessment, treatment, education and ongoing management across hospital, community and home settings, while contributing to service improvement and innovation. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Full Time, Permanent
You will be based at Gartnavel General Hospital
Shift Pattern: Working between Monday and Saturday 08:30 am - 16:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

Deliver specialist assessment, treatment, education and ongoing management for patients with chronic respiratory conditions
Manage a defined caseload across a range of settings including pulmonary rehabilitation services, outpatient clinics, inpatient wards and patients homes
Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients, carers, nursing colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team
Lead and contribute to evidence-based pulmonary rehabilitation programmes that improve patient outcomes and support self-management
Participate in service development, quality improvement, audit and research activities to enhance patient care
Support the implementation of innovative and digital models of respiratory care across the service
Contribute to education, training and professional development initiatives for staff, students, patients and carers

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

First Level Registered Nurse with relevant or significant post-registration experience
Relevant or significant respiratory nursing experience or experience within a related clinical speciality
Ability to undertake and complete the agreed training and development pathway for the Clinical Nurse Specialist role
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, carers and colleagues
Demonstrable leadership, organisational and workload management skills
Experience of building positive relationships with patients, service users and carers and supporting person-centred care
Valid driving licence and access to a car to support travel across community and clinical settings

Desirable

Experience of pulmonary rehabilitation programme delivery
Experience leading service improvement initiatives
Knowledge of digital health technologies and remote monitoring platforms
