Role Summary:

Infosys BPM is Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payment Disputes and Risk Officer to support its Client, the role is responsible for managing Payment Disputes, chargebacks, merchant risk, and fraud-related activities while ensuring compliance with card scheme regulations, client policies, and Australian financial service requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer chargeback and direct debit claim processes in line with scheme rules and internal policies.
Respond to merchant, banking partner, and stakeholder dispute-related enquiries.
Review and investigate transaction disputes, fraud alerts, and suspicious activities.
Monitor merchant transaction activity and escalate potential risks where required.
Support risk investigations and periodic merchant reviews.
Ensure timely responses to payment schemes to maximize recovery and minimize losses.
Assess merchant activity for risk, compliance, and acceptability.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on dispute and fraud matters.
Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills Preferred:

Strong understanding of payment disputes, chargebacks, fraud prevention, and risk management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to interpret transactional data and identify unusual activity patterns.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of payment industry regulations, card schemes, and dispute processes.
Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service capabilities.

Timely and accurate processing of chargebacks and claims.

Deliver professional and timely support to merchants and financial institutions.
Maintain strong relationships with merchants, banking partners, and internal stakeholders.
Communicate dispute outcomes, risk findings, and required actions clearly.
Support merchants in resolving disputes and preventing future payment fraud.
Provide guidance on chargeback and claims management processes.

Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyses transaction data and make risk-based decisions.
Knowledge of fraud detection, transaction monitoring, and card payment ecosystems.

Educational / Professional Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.
Experience in payment disputes, chargeback management, fraud prevention, risk operations, or financial services.
Preferred experience within Payments, FinTech, Banking, Merchant Acquiring, or E-commerce sectors.
Relevant certifications in Fraud Prevention, Risk Management, Compliance, or Payments are advantageous.
