Job Summary

The Senior Associate, HNI, Domestic & Global Mobility Tax is responsible for managing the preparation and review of U.S. tax compliance engagements for High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs), domestic taxpayers, globally mobile employees, trusts, estates, and gifting structures. The role involves preparing and reviewing complex Forms 1040, 1041, 709, and 706, conducting technical tax research, coordinating with clients and advisors, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tax compliance services. The Senior Associate serves as a technical resource for junior team members, supports engagement management activities, and contributes to operational excellence through quality-focused execution and continuous process improvement.

Prerequisites

4-7+ years of experience in U.S. Individual Tax Compliance, including HNI, domestic, and/or global mobility taxation.
Strong experience preparing and reviewing complex Forms 1040, 1041, 709, and 706.
Exposure to multi-state taxation, trusts and estates, foreign reporting, and international individual tax compliance.
CPA, EA, or progress toward a professional tax qualification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.
Strong analytical, technical research, communication, and client service skills.
Experience mentoring junior professionals and supporting team development initiatives.
Proficiency with U.S. tax compliance software, Microsoft Office applications, and workflow management tools.

Job Description

Review all types of US individual income (HNI) tax returns.
Demonstrate a high level of proficiency of tax technical knowledge and independently handle complex returns involving K-1s, PFICs, and international filings.
Manage the engagement team -Set performance measurements and ensure that performance goals, including engagement economics, turnaround time and quality targets are met. Interact with clients to resolve open items and explain tax positions
Identify and lead new services that the service line can perform at the VVN.
Develop, mentor, and supervise Associates & Specialists.
Demonstrate leadership and executive presence.
Communicate progress and project status to all stakeholders.
Knowledge of the firm policies related to confidentiality and data privacy, client acceptance and engagement letters, tax return preparer guidelines and knowledge-sharing.
Adhere to practice protocol and other internal processes consistently
