Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled VMware & HCX Migration Engineer with 2-5 years of experience in virtualization and cloud migration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting workload migrations using VMware HCX across on-premises and cloud environments (such as VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution, or GCVE).________________________________________
Key Responsibilities:
. Plan and execute VM migrations using VMware HCX (vMotion, Bulk Migration, Cold Migration, Replication Assisted vMotion)
. Deploy, configure, and manage VMware HCX components (Manager, Interconnect, WAN Optimization, Network Extension)
. Perform assessment and discovery of workloads for migration readiness
. Handle L2 network extension and ensure minimal downtime during migration
. Troubleshoot migration issues and optimize performance
. Work with cross-functional teams (network, storage, cloud) to ensure smooth migration
. Validate post-migration workloads and ensure application functionality
. Maintain documentation for migration plans, runbooks, and execution reports
. Support DR and rollback strategies during migration

Required Skills:
. Strong experience in VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)
. Hands-on experience with VMware HCX migrations
. Good understanding of networking concepts (VLAN, VPN, routing, firewalls)
. Experience with cloud platforms (VMware Cloud on AWS / Azure VMware Solution / GCP)
. Knowledge of migration strategies and tools
. Familiarity with NSX (preferred but not mandatory)
. Basic scripting knowledge (PowerCLI / Bash / Python) is a plus

. VMware certifications (VCP-DCV preferred)
. HCX deployment or migration experience is a strong advantage

. Experience with multi-cloud migrations
. Knowledge of disaster recovery solutions (SRM, Zerto, etc.)
