We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of AWS-based data platforms and data engineering solutions. This role combines practical data pipeline development with data architecture and platform design, and is well suited to candidates who enjoy working across data ingestion, transformation, automation, and analytics enablement.

You will work closely with architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to build scalable and secure data solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational use cases.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using AWS services such as Glue, Athena, S3, and RDS.

• Ingest and process data from internal and external sources, including APIs, databases, and flat files.

• Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading to support downstream analytics and reporting needs.

• Develop Python scripts and automation workflows for data processing and orchestration.

Data Architecture & Platform Design

• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Develop and maintain data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts.

• Build scalable data integration solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

• Design and develop APIs and integration services to provide secure access to data assets.

Data Governance & Security

• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance requirements are met.

• Support implementation of governance controls, metadata management, and master data management practices where required.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with solution architects, product owners, analysts, and engineering teams.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical design discussions.

• Document technical designs, data flows, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or data platform development.

• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:

– AWS Glue

– Amazon Athena

– Amazon S3

– Amazon RDS

– Amazon SageMaker (preferred)

• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns, data modelling, and data architecture principles.

• Experience working with structured and transactional datasets.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with enterprise data platforms, metadata management, or master data management (MDM).

• Exposure to API-based integrations and data services.

• Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
