Business Overview / Division:

The Private Bank combines Deutsche Bank's private clients business in Germany and its international business with private and commercial clients together with Wealth Management in a single division.
In both the domestic German market and worldwide the Private Bank provides high-quality advice to over 20 million clients and a broad range of financial services in 19 countries - ranging from day-to-day banking services right through to advisory services for sophisticated Private Banking and Wealth Management clients. In Italy, Spain, Belgium and India the Private Bank offers its services to corporate clients as well as small and medium-sized enterprises.

Team:

The team is part of the Business Risk & Controls (BRC) for PB US. The PB BRC guards the Protect agenda by overseeing non-financial risks, conduct & control topics and regulatory changes. The team works across global PB franchise delivering complex key risk and control agenda, adding value for the Business to reduce complexity and enhance controls. The team works with cross-functional and global teams, collaborating with multiple stakeholders globally across the bank.

Your key responsibilities

Providing hands‑on support and oversight for PB US Operational Risk Management activities, including RCSA, issues and findings management, operational risk event management, and remediation tracking
Drafting, documenting, and maintaining PB US-specific policies, procedures, manuals, and control documentation related to operational risk
Supporting the production and delivery of PB US operational risk reporting and management information, including dashboards, governance materials, and senior management reporting
Maintaining subject matter expertise on PB US operational risks, regulatory expectations, and internal governance requirements
Coordinating closely with 1LoD and 2LoD stakeholders to ensure timely completion of operational risk activities and deliverables
Supporting implementation of new or revised operational risk and control requirements applicable to PB US
Proactively identifying, assessing, and escalating sensitive or emerging operational risk issues with clear analysis and well‑reasoned recommendations

Your skills and experience

Knowledge of non-financial risks and controls
Experience of working with controls processes
Relevant experience in the Retail Banking / Private Banking sector or experience in financial services or consultancy (with Private Banking experience preferred but not essential)
Experience working on small to medium scale projects at least within a global environment
University degree

Competencies:

Very strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs e.g. Excel , Word and PowerPoint
Ability to work in pressurised situations
Strong work ethic, commitment to excel and proven capacity to work effectively with limited supervision
Strong communication (written and verbal) and relationship skills
Ability to clearly articulate and present supported topics
Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken skills)
