Job Description

To provide technical support to the Middle East Power & Water business of WSP in the field of Power Generation; mainly, CCGT and OCGT technologies. Experience in renewable technologies will be a plus.

Responsibilities

The range of activities includes:

Feasibility / FEED Studies for new Power Generation projects
Preparation of functional specifications and basic concept drawings for power plant systems and equipment
Preparation of detail design specification and drawings
Technical evaluation of Contractors bids
Design review of Contractors design submissions
General technical support to Utility Companies, Power Plant Owners, Project Developer Companies, Banks & Governments pre/post financial close for new build power plant as well as existing operational plant
Preparation of Techno-economic feasibilities studies.
Vendor engineering review for Gas & Steam Turbines and BOP Packages.

Qualifications

Key Competencies / Skills / Qualifications

Assisting the iCRC power generation group team leader to plan and allocate team resources and tasks
Detail design of power generation projects and use of the associated performance modelling software packages
Preparation of basic and detail technical specifications and design drawings for rotating plant equipment ((gas turbines, steam turbines, pumps, compressors etc.)
Preparation of layout drawings; plan and cross-sectional views
Review of design and performance calculations and drawings of Contractors/subcontractors/vendors
Preparation of the rotating plant part and performance part of technical studies and reports
Stay updated with relevant technical developments within the discipline including international codes and standards and the rotating plant offered by OEMs.
Attend and contribute in team and project meetings
Attend factory acceptance tests for any equipment manufactured in India
Ensure that health, safety and environmental standards are embedded into all work practices and projects
Ensure quality management is embedded into all projects
Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met Previous site experience on a power generation project (>3 years)
Design office experience working on power generation projects (>8 years)
Pre-bid engineering and Front End Engineering of Combined Cycle Gas based power plants of 300 MW and above.
Experience of GT Pro and PEACE software.
Experience of Thermodynamic Power Plant Cycle Analysis.
Experience of power plant systems and equipment
Experience of basic and detail design of power plant. Heat and Mass Balance Diagrams, preparation of P&IDs, PFDs and design basis reports.
Experience of international codes and standards
Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision to achieve tight deadlines
