Position: Civil & Structural Eng Lead

Job Description

Responsible for managing and supervising the team members. Perform structural design calculations and address the civil and offshore structural design challenges. Keep abreast of industry codes, standards, regulations and guidelines. Meet or exceed project expectations in a timely manner within the budget limits. Co-ordination with intra / inter disciplinary team and provide the required deliverables as and when requested

Roles and Responsibilities:

Review and understand client specifications during proposal/project Execution phase. Raise clarifications and deviations not inline Interfaces Prior Experience/Expertise Required with Company standards.
Review topographical survey map, soil investigation reports and extraction of required design inputs if available. Prepare Technical Requisition of these studies during project execution. Follow up with Vendors
Create or review the Civil and structural design basis and project specifications.
Perform Structural analysis of Offshore and FPSO modules/skids in accordance with a Design Basis for various phases of the structure viz., Inplace, lifting, Transit, etc., and produce calculation reports by meeting Client and Company standards
Perform Structural design of Offshore and FPSO modules with all applicable loads and design combinations to arrive at the member sizing for modules, skids, pipe racks, platforms etc..
Monitor and assess team performance, quality and provide feedback for improvement.
Assess team skills/competencies and create individual development plans. • Monitor resource loading and develop action plans for staffing as required.
Prepare, review and approve civil and structural MTOs during proposals and project execution.
Perform civil & structural analysis, calculations, design reports, connection design report and drawings.
Lead and assist junior Civil & Structural engineers/designers when developing engineering deliverables.
Responsible to deliver Civil & structural engineering documents as per project schedule.
Provide engineering hours estimate during proposals for its discipline. Responsible for tracking engineering hours for its discipline during project execution.
Participate in 3D model interdisciplinary reviews and resolve the clashes in its discipline.
Review, comment and approve the outsourced structural engineering design deliverables. Ensure most updated vendors documentation is being used for developing these deliverables.
Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in its discipline in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Actively support, participate in, and maintain the integrity and on-going function of the company and facility HSSE program, ensuring a safe/healthy work environment.
Ability and willingness to travel, as required to fulfil project and business needs
Knowledge of relevant Industry Standards. (API,ASCE,ACI, AISC, BS, EURO and other international detailing knowledge).
Effective implementation of quality systems, procedures, management of change and revision control.
Good knowledge of commercial engineering design programs such as STAAD, SAP 2000 and SACS.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education Qualification:

Bachelors in civil engineering or
Master in Structural Engineering or
Masters in Offshore Structures

Experience

12+ years relevant experience within the Oil and Gas Industry
Prior design work experience as lead for a minimum of 5 years in Onshore and Offshore Projects

Expertise:

Experience in executing proposal, FEED and detail engineering of various oil & gas projects.
Strong structural design engineering background on Onshore, Offshore and FPSO projects.
Experience in preservice and Inservice structural analysis of Offshore and FPSO projects
