Substation Design Engineer (AIS/GIS up to 220kV) | Ahmedabad | Experienced only

GreenOps is looking for a highly driven Substation Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Ahmedabad.

This role is suited for professionals who want exposure to high-impact renewable energy and utility-scale power infrastructure projects while working across both primary and secondary engineering for substations up to 220kV.

Key Responsibilities

Design AIS/GIS substations including:
Equipment layouts
Busbar arrangements
Earthing systems
SLDs and GA drawings
Develop secondary engineering deliverables:
Protection & control schemes
Panel layouts
Wiring diagrams
Relay logic and SCADA interfaces
Coordinate with civil/structural teams for foundations and support structures
Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and engineering reports
Support engineering reviews, procurement, FAT, site execution, and commissioning activities
Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, CBIP, and utility standards

Desired Skills & Experience

3–5 years of hands-on experience in substation engineering
Experience in AIS/GIS substations up to 220kV
Strong understanding of:
Protection systems
Transformers
CT/PT selection
Earthing & insulation coordination
Fault level calculations
Familiarity with utility and renewable energy projects

Software Exposure

AutoCAD
ETAP / DigSILENT
PLS-CADD (preferred)
