Job Description

WSP is seeking to recruit Assistant Consultant Cyber Security provides junior level technical and administrative support to senior cyber security and technology specialists within WSP. The role focuses on high-quality presentation and report preparation, coordination of project activities, and desktop research to support delivery of cyber security, digital infrastructure, and intelligent transport projects. This role is well suited to an early career professional seeking to develop experience in cyber security, technology assurance, and professional services consulting within a global engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Provide day to day support to senior cyber security and technical team members across live projects and bids.
Assist with the preparation, formatting, and quality assurance of technical reports, dashboards, and client deliverables.
Prepare clear, professional PowerPoint presentations to support client meetings, internal reviews, and governance forums.
Strong written English communication skills, with experience preparing professional reports and presentations.
Undertake structured desktop research on cyber security, standards, guidance, and emergingtechnologies.
Analyse and summarise research findings into concise notes, tables, or slides suitable for senior technical review.
Support development of background material for bids, proposals, and strategy documents. Work closely with UK and international teams, including engineers, cyber security specialists, and project managers

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Relevant certifica t ions or training in cyber security (desirable)

Experience Requirements

2+ years or relevant internship/p r oject experience in cyber security, IT, or digital systems.

Mandatory Skills

Strong written English communication skills, with experience preparing professional reports and presentations.
Proven desktop research skills and ability to summarise technical information effectively.
High level of c ompetence in M icrosoft Office (PowerPoint, Wo r d, Excel).
Strong organisational skills and at t ention to detail.

Desirable Skill

Academic background or strong in t erest in cyber security, In f ormation/Operational Technology, digital systems, or engineering.
Familiarity with cyber security concepts, standards, or frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, NCSC guidance).
Experience working in a pro f essional services, engineering, or consultancy environment.
Exposu r e to SharePoint, Team s , or si m ilar documen t manage m ent systems.

BGV:
