The Role

East Renfrewshire Mental Health Recovery & ADRS is currently seeking to recruit a Band 5 CPN to join our adult and older adult community mental health teams. You must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current professional registration and demonstrable experience in mental health practice.

The successful applicant will manage their own caseload and will receive regular support and supervision from experienced Band 6 staff. The post holder will undertake comprehensive and specialist mental health assessments, plan and deliver appropriate interventions, and provide specialist advice and support to individuals and their families who are living with severe and enduring mental health conditions, often alongside complex social care needs.

Our teams provide mental health and recovery services across East Renfrewshire HSCP, and you would be joining a friendly, supportive, and well-established service.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This is a permanent, full-time post of 36 hours per week.

Based between Eastwood Health and care centre/Barrhead health and care centre.

The shift pattern is 9am-5pm.

Key Responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for:

Functioning as Named Nurse/ keyworker within a multi-disciplinary team, to a defined patient caseload.
The holistic assessment of care needs including risk assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care.
Carrying out all relevant forms of nursing care pertinent to the needs of individual patients in the least restrictive and disruptive manner as possible.
Identifying and responding to the health promotion needs of patients focusing on improving the mental and physical well-being of patients
Identifying and responding to the needs of patients which might be related to vulnerability, gender, health, domestic abuse, child protection and/ or self harm.
Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and carers ensuring that care needs are identified and met within a participative framework demonstrating principles of equality, dignity and respect accounting for spiritual and cultural diversity. Working proactively with other agencies/ services (ie interpreter services) to aid effective communication.
Working within agreed competency based parameters undertake evidence based psychological therapies/ psychological approaches to care with individuals and/ or group settings where required.
Administering prescribed medication/ treatments in compliance with NHSGGC Policy; monitoring effectiveness of prescribed treatments; monitoring and effective management of unwanted side effects.
