As the Financial Controller in our team, you will spend every day defining, refining, and delivering our financial strategies to meet the needs of our global business. Demonstrating strategic thinking and a commitment to best practices, you will leverage your deep understanding of financial consolidation, reporting systems, and analytical acumen to make informed decisions that drive our business forward. You will be responsible for managing the financial reporting process, including the development and maintenance of financial reports and schedules. Your role will involve controlling post-closing entries, performing control procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. You will work closely with line of business controllers, middle office, and operations teams to understand the operational impact of trading and ensure the integrity of our financial and reporting processes.

Job responsibilities

Manage the monthly consolidation of JPMorgan Chase income statement and balance sheet. Develop and maintain financial reports and schedules while controlling post-closing entries and consolidation adjustments.
Perform various control procedures to ensure the integrity of reported financial results. Participate in all aspects of the production of the monthly financial Variance Analysis Report
Support ad-hoc requests for financial information received from across the firm. Work with various areas to research, escalate, and clear cash and settlement exceptions in a timely manner
Collaborate with businesses and controllers to understand and approve monthly profit and loss statements, while completing the monthly general ledger reconciliation process.
Perform T0 v/s T1 checks- Provide P&L commentary of mark to market P&L including Market drivers- Review RSBPL Scallops
Reconcile source data to ledger, resolve any breaks
Ensure the maintenance of a strong internal control environment. Attest control tool and maintain evidence of same. Manage ad hoc queries from stakeholders including front office, COO, financial/product controllers
Provide daily balance sheet commentary based on business drivers. Close books during month ends including clearing breaks, provide commentary on material P&L moves, posting journals
Perform balance sheet substantiation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Basic experience with a financial consolidation and reporting system (i.e. SAP interface)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related businessfield
Basic knowledge of industry standards and regulations for US GAAP &/or IFRS Standards
Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance or equivalent degree from any other university
4 years of relevant work experience in same industry or Controllership or Accounting domain
Basic understanding of the firm's products & its accounting

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Ability tocritically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues
Basic understanding oftransformation/visualization products such as Alteryx, Tableau, UI Path and other Intelligent Solutions Skills will be an added advantage
Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies
Aptitude for learning and leveraging systems and data flows
