Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join our finance team in a leading manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and inventory management, with a strong focus on improving cost efficiency and accuracy. The role involves collaborating closely with the production, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis & Reporting:

Prepare and analyze cost data for raw materials, labor, and overhead, ensuring accurate costing for products.

Develop and maintain standard cost models for all products, updating periodically to reflect current production costs.

Monitor actual costs vs. budgeted costs and report variances, providing insights to help control expenses.

Inventory Management:

Perform month-end and year-end inventory reconciliations, working with other departments to resolve discrepancies.

Monitor inventory levels, ensuring efficient stock management and minimizing waste.

Conduct periodic audits of physical inventory to verify accuracy and compliance with financial records.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting processes by providing cost information and analyses.

Work with production and procurement teams to anticipate cost changes and provide recommendations for cost savings.

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

Prepare monthly and quarterly reports detailing cost allocations, variances, and financial performance metrics.

Support management in decision-making by providing actionable cost-related insights and profitability analysis.

Process Improvement:

Analyze existing cost accounting processes and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Implement best practices in cost accounting within the manufacturing setup to streamline workflows and improve reporting.

Qualifications & Key Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CMA/ICWA preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Expertise in cost accounting, budgeting & forecasting, inventory management, and financial analysis.
