Overview

We are looking for an Experienced Professional to join Panasonic Avionics. As an IT Software Developer, you will design, develop, and integrate moderate to complex IT enterprise software solutions. Your role will focus on frameworks, programming, troubleshooting, and debugging IT software issues, aligned with strategic goals and technology needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and refine project requirements, applying best practices to maximize the benefits of IT systems investments. Additionally, you will mentor and guide other team members as needed.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

Planning (20%)

Participate in and lead project planning and estimation.
Contribute to the development of technical strategies for projects.
Define coding standards and collaborate with business stakeholders on technology roadmaps.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for adoption.

System Design & Integration (50%)

Lead and develop IT software application projects from conception to delivery.
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine project requirements.
Work with cross-functional teams on coding and testing, taking ownership of specific modules or components.
Contribute to technical documentation and participate in code reviews.
Optimize and enhance existing IT software systems.

System Operations (20%)

Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical application issues.
Resolve technical issues and provide in-depth support.
Analyze and troubleshoot application performance problems.
Escalate issues when necessary and implement preventive measures.
Collaborate with development teams on bug fixes and enhancements, conducting root cause analysis for major incidents.

Mentor (10%)

Provide mentorship to colleagues and junior developers, offering technical guidance and support.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Competence:

Acts as a resource for or provides informal guidance to colleagues with less experience.

Minimum Relevant Experience

5+ years progressively responsible professional experience (may be reduced with an advanced degree).

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Expertise in ServiceNow, including development on the Now Platform, custom application development, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, and JavaScript.
Extensive experience with ServiceNow APIs, integrations (REST/SOAP), and data migration.
Familiarity with ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, or other key ServiceNow modules.
Proficiency in DevOps and CI/CD practices, using tools such as Jenkins/GitLab, Git/GitHub, and Artifactory, including automated deployments through ServiceNow DevOps or related pipelines.
Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, performance optimization, update set management, and platform best practices.
Experience with automated and regression testing, including the use of ATF (Automated Test Framework) and defect tracking systems.
Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD), the Software Development Life Cycle, and coding best practices.
Ability to adapt communication for effectiveness with business partners and technical teams.
Strong understanding of organizational goals, data privacy laws, and cloud infrastructure.
Excellent project management and communication skills.
Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related technical field, or 9+ years of experience in IT enterprise software development in lieu of a degree.
5+ years of experience in enterprise software development, with a focus on ServiceNow or equivalent platform experience.

Other Requirements

Certifications: ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA) required; Certified Application Developer (CAD) or ITSM/ITOM certifications preferred.
Nearly 100% sitting and typing.
Domestic and international travel may be required (up to 5%).
