Tax Manager

Position: Assistant Manager/Manager-Direct OR Indirect Tax

Location: Bangalore (Kudlu Gate)

Working Days: Monday- Friday

Experience Required: CA with 2-6 years PQE

Client: D2C brand offering wearables and devices for checking vitals.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Tax Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing both taxationfunctions. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in tax compliance, litigation, and cross-border transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Tax:

• Manage end-to-end compliance: TDS, Tax Audit Reports (TAR), Income Tax Returns (ITR).
• Handle tax aspects of cross-border transactions and transfer pricing.
• Support and manage income tax litigation: drafting submissions, representation, and coordination with consultants.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and assessments.
• Collaborate with business teams and advisors on tax queries and transactions.
• Monitor and interpret changes in direct tax laws.

Indirect Tax:

• Oversee GST compliance: return filing, reconciliation, and input tax credit.
• Handle GST audits and litigation: draft responses, appear before authorities (directly or via consultants).
• Ensure compliance with e-invoicing, IMS, and changing GST provisions.
• Assess import/export tax implications and manage reverse charge mechanisms.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Ops) and external consultants.
• Stay current with changes in GST and customs regulations.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Direct or Indirect tax laws.
• Proven ability to manage litigation, audits, and complex tax scenarios.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
