About Our Client

Our client is a leading global bank with a strong and growing presence across Asia. As the organisation continues to scale its wholesale banking franchise, it remains focused on strengthening its regional risk management capabilities to support disciplined and sustainable growth. They are now looking to appoint a Senior Vice President, Credit Risk Approver to join the regional risk team. This is a high-impact role with direct involvement in credit decision-making across multiple sectors and markets, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide independent credit approval for wholesale banking transactions across multiple sectors

• Assess and approve complex credit proposals, including large corporate and structured deals

• Partner closely with front office to provide balanced, commercial yet prudent risk guidance

• Evaluate industry, counterparty, and transaction-specific risks across regional portfolios

• Ensure alignment with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite

• Contribute to portfolio monitoring, identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigating actions

• Support the development and enhancement of credit risk frameworks and governance standards

• Engage with regional stakeholders to ensure consistency in credit decision-making and risk discipline

Requirements

• 12–18+ years of experience in credit risk within wholesale/corporate banking

• Strong track record as a credit approver with delegated approval authority

• Proven experience covering regional portfolios across multiple sectors

• Deep understanding of corporate credit analysis, structuring, and risk assessment

• Ability to balance risk and business considerations in a commercial banking environment

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence to challenge senior front office stakeholders

• High integrity, sound judgement, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, decision-driven environment
